St Helens Model Boat Club

 

We meet at Taylor Park St Helens every Sunday morning throughout the year.  (9.30am -12.30am approx.) and on Wednesday mornings, (again 9.30am-12.30 am approx.)  In addition to morning sailing, afternoon sailing will commence at the lake on Sundays from the start of British Summer Time until the end of October, i.e. the end of British Summer Time .

St Helens Model Boat Club Subcriptions (2011 - 2012)

Adult member sailing:             £17.50
Junior member sailing             £7.50

Special concession membership:

Family membership:

One adult, two children            £30.00    (£17.50 + £7.50 + £5.00)
Then, for each extra child @     £5.00

Associate Member non sailing:   £10.00

In order to be flexible, if an adult wishes to join the club with two juniors but the adult does not wish to sail.
Then the Family Membership would be priced as; One Associate member and two juniors; £10.00 + £7.50 + £5.00 = £22.50


Juniors will start paying the adult rate when they reach their 16th birthday.    Membership forms can be obtained by sending an e-mail to webmaster@sthelensmodelboatclub.co.uk  or from the Secretary at the lake on most sailing days.

Club Constitution:
 

1. The name of the club is: The St Helens & District Model Boat Club.
 
2. The official venue for the sailing of models is: Taylor Park Lake St Helens.
 
3. The official venue for Club Meetings is: The Stanley Arms Gillars Lane Eccleston St Helens WA10 5PT
 
4. A Committee comprising of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and two other club members, will manage the Affairs of the Club.
 
5. The Club members will elect the Committee, after being duly proposed and seconded. They will not be liable or personally responsible for any loss, injury or damage suffered by members, member’s relatives or guests.
 
6. A Quorum of three Committee members is required for any decision meeting to take place.

7. All Committee members will relinquish office at least every two years, but may seek re-election immediately.
 
8. There will be an honorary position of Commodore who will not be a Committee member and will
have no Committee voting rights.

9. The decisions of the Committee will be final, until revoked by an Extraordinary General Meeting or an Annual General Meeting.
 
10. An Extraordinary General Meeting can be called by no less than 10% of Club members.
 
11. Frequency of meetings, An Annual General meeting will be held once every twelve calendar months. The committee will meet at least four times per twelve calendar months. A General meeting will be held once per calendar month on the First Tuesday of the month..

12. The fee for membership wil be reviewed and fixed at the AGM for the following year.
Half the Anual fee will be charged for new members joing after 1st September, thereafter, proportionally until the end of the year. Renewal of the annual fee will be by 1st January.
 
13. Two Auditors, who will not be Committee members, will be appointed each year and will report back to the committee at least seven days before the Annual General meeting.
 
14. Special sub-committees can be appointed for special events etc., at the discretion of the main committee.
 
15. In the event that the Club is wound up, all monies, after all liabilities have been attended to, will be donated to The Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
 
16. The club will have the power to expel any member who offends against the club rules, or whose conduct, in the opinion of the majority of the members, renders that person unfit for membership. 
However, no person will be expelled without first having the opportunity of answering the complaint, and a vote in favour of expulsion from at least 67% of the members present.
 

 

 A Copy of this Constitution is also contained in the members subscription record which is given to you when you join the club and 
The Club Rules will also be given to you on a separate sheet at the same time.

 

Family Membership: Please note that parents and guardians are responsible for the care of their children.  Children will not be allowed to sail or take part in any club events unless their parent or guardian accompanies them at all times.

A Guide on Club Policy for Caring for Children and Vuneralble Adults will be given to new Family Members when applying to join the Club.
